did you know about urinary tract infection during pregnancy
Did you know that urinary tract infections (or UTI’s) are a common infection during pregnancy?

Because of the increased hormones running through your body during pregnancy, the connections between your kidneys and bladder relax.  Not to mention the increased urine that when combined, provide the perfect opportunity for bacteria to thrive.

UTI’s are characterized by pain or itching when urinating, a sudden pressure to go with no urine output, and a constant tickle or itch in your urethra.  If you have these, mention them to your doctor so he can test your urine and get you on antibiotic if needed.  If untreated, it can progress into a full blown kidney infection!

To prevent UTIs, drink lots of water and cranberry juice, and keep the area clean.
