Most experts agree that you can safely continue a sport or activity you’re already skillful at, but it’s not a good idea to start a new one during pregnancy. So what kind of exercise is safe while you’re pregnant? Here are some ideas:
- Walking at a quick pace
- Swimming (in shallow water, that’s not too hot or cold)
- Water workouts that are created especially for pregnant women
- Pedaling a stationary bike (make sure the speed and tension of your bike is comfortable)
- A step machine or stair climber
- Rowing machine (at a comfortable speed)
- Exercises designed for pregnancy
- Pre-natal yoga
